Veterans didn’t ask for anything up-front before they served our country, and neither does the law firm of Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law, when we help veterans with their disability claims. When veterans seek our help with disability compensation claims and appeals, we offer legal services with NO up-front lawyers’ fees. That’s correct.

The law firm of Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law, only collects attorneys’ fees if we are successful in getting our client’s disability claim approved. We collect 20% of backpay, which is standard for legal services to help veterans obtain benefits.

Some clients ask how we can afford to work this way. It’s simple. We believe that people who have disabilities deserve the government benefits to which they’re entitled. At Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law, our experienced veterans’ disability benefits lawyers are confident in our ability to win approval of benefits for our clients. We are so confident that unless we deliver, we don’t get paid.

Our Process

For veterans’ disability benefit cases, we reach an agreement in advance with the client on the amount that our fee will be if the claim is approved. Typically, it’s a reasonable percentage of the eventual award.

In some instances, our clients may need to pay for copies of their medical records from doctors, hospitals or psychologists. If our veterans benefit attorneys anticipate those costs will be necessary in your case, we’ll inform you as early as possible in the process, and help make arrangements to pay those fees. There are no hidden costs. At Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law, we don’t charge for phone calls, paperwork or travel to a hearing.

As soon as we sign a representation agreement with a client, our disability benefits attorneys will inform the Veterans Administration that our law office is representing you in your claim for disability benefits. If necessary, we will appeal your denial and obtain a copy of your file. We will analyze evidence relevant to your disability claim, including independent medical examinations when necessary. We will provide this evidence to the Veterans Administration.

Once we request a hearing, we will meet with you and prepare you for what to expect. We will advocate on your behalf at the hearing and keep you informed of each step in the claims process. If we win, we will make sure the Veterans Administration pays you the correct benefits.

If the ruling in that hearing is unfavorable, we will advise you about the various options to appeal the decision. At Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law, we don’t take no for an answer. In pursuing disability claims and appeals, we are confident we’ll eventually succeed because our clients rightly deserve the benefits they are seeking.
