VAMC Beckley is a 40-bed (38 medical, 2 surgical) full service medical center serving veterans resident in 11 counties in West Virginia and one county in Virginia. The VAMC Beckley Community Living Center has space available for 50 residents. Other areas of focus at the medical center include Mental Health, Pharmacy, Primary Care, Social Work, Spinal Cord Injury and Women's Health. Specialized services include ICU, Nuclear Medicine, Respiratory Care, Oncology Treatment Unit, Respite Care, Mental Health Clinic, Extended Care Rehabilitation, Homeless Veterans Outreach, Lithotripsy, Mobile MRI, Doppler Studies, CT Scan, Adult Care Health Care, Women's Health Clinic, Care Coordination and Home Telehealth (CCHT) and Home Based Primary Care.
Specialty Care offered at the Medical Center includes general surgery, ENT, cardiology, cardiology testing, podiatry, minor procedures, gastroenterology, urology, pulmonary, optometry and orthopedics.
The Center supports two Veterans Outreach Center, in Beckley and Princeton.

Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center is a 98-bed acute and intermediate medical facility serving veterans in North Central West Virginia and adjacent counties in Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Twenty-seven of its 98 beds are part of a nursing home care unit. Services at the Medical Center include Chaplain Services, Extended Care and Rehabilitation program, Homeless Vet program, Mental Health, Nutrition and Food, Pharmacy, Primary Care, Social Work, Specialty Care, Spinal Cord Injury and Women's Health. The Medical Center also offers a substance abuse center and a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder program. As an active teaching hospital, the Medical Center is affiliated with five different universities.
The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center is a research facility, with an extensive research and development program that focuses on biomedical research, and clinical and cooperative studies. There are currently nine research projects under way at the Center, in the following areas: Cardiology, PTSD, Prostate Cancer, Skin Cancer, COPD, Osteoporosis, Restless Leg/Chronic Kidney Disease and Diabetes.
Specialty care services at the Medical Center include surgical specialties, neurology, radiation, oncology and audiology.
Community Based Outpatient Clinics supported by the Medical Center can be found in Braxton County, Monongolia County, Tucker County and Wood County.

Huntington VA Medical Center is an acute and intermediate medical facility serving veterans who are resident in Huntington and the surrounding area. There are affiliated clinics in the towns of: Logan, Williamson and Charleston, WV; and Prestonburg, KY. In one recent year, 4,150 patients were admitted to the Medical Center. The Medical Center treated 1,176 patients who were veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Specialized services at the Medical Center include: mental health services, services for minority veterans, multiple sclerosis, same-day surgery, returning veterans, social work, spinal cord injuries, visual impairment program and women's health.
There is an intensive mental health program at the Medical Center which includes treatments for depression, nervousness, addictive behaviors, relationship problems, stress from medical problems and/or pain, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), emotional problems, such as managing anger, vocational issues, troublesome thoughts or ideas, confused thinking, aggressive or self-harming behaviors and memory problems.
The Medical Center supports four Community Based Outpatient Clinics, located in Charleston, WV, Prestonburg, KY, Logan, WV, and Williamson, WV.

The Martinsburg VA Medical Center is a 559-bed acute and intermediate medical facility serving veterans who are resident in 23 counties in West Maryland, West Virginia, South Central Pennsylvania and North West Virginia. Sixty-nine of the beds serve acute care patients, 178 are for nursing home care patients and 312 are domiciliary beds. In one recent year, 3,334 patients were admitted to the Medical Center. The Medical Center also treated 1,181 veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Specialized services at the Medical Center include geriatrics/long term care, medical service, pharmacy services, primary care, prosthetic and sensory aids and surgical care.
Specialty care available at the Medical Center includes Audiology, Speech Pathology, Cardiology, Clinical Nutrition, Clinical Pharmacy, Dental, Ear, Nose, Throat, Gastroenterology, General Surgery (includes Laparoscopic Surgery), Hematology, Podiatry, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Orthopedics, Rehab Medicine, Urology AND Wound Management.
The Medical Center supports six Community Based Outpatient Clinics, located in Hagerstown, MD, Cumberland, MD, Harrisburg, VA, Stephens City, VA, Franklin, WV and Petersburg, WV.
